Quick answer
Which is better, Upbit or Anytime Capital?
Upbit trades only in Korean won, requires a Korean phone number and a K Bank real-name account, and its terms exclude U.S. residents, so for most readers it is not an option. Anytime Capital serves customers wherever they are, with card pricing from 4% with the spread included, cash and same-day wire, an OTC desk, an FDIC-insured cash account with a free debit card, and offices in Atlanta and Miami. Upbit is the right choice if you hold the K Bank account it requires and want won-denominated order-book trading.

Card pricing at Anytime Capital, where Upbit has no card rail
Published fee percentages on a debit or credit card order
Upbit does not sell crypto for a card payment directly: no card, Apple Pay or Google Pay purchases at all; the only way in is a Korean-won transfer from a linked K Bank account, so a card never enters the picture. Anytime Capital card pricing starts from 4% and is shown in full before you confirm, excluding network fees. As of September 2026.
What Upbit is, and who it is for
Upbit launched in October 2017, built by the Seoul fintech Dunamu on the back of its Kakao-linked stock app, and within months it was the busiest exchange in South Korea. It has held that position ever since, with the deepest Korean-won order books in the world and more than 180 listed coins. In late 2025 Naver Financial agreed to acquire Dunamu in an all-stock deal valued around $10.3 billion, a transaction that was still working through Korean regulators as of September 2026. Upbit is, in short, national infrastructure for Korean crypto.
That national character is also its boundary. Korean law requires every won-denominated exchange to pair with one bank for real-name accounts, and Upbit's partner is K Bank, an internet-only bank that in practice serves Korean residents. You need a Korean mobile number, a Korean ID or Alien Registration Card, and a K Bank account in your own name before a single won can be deposited. There is no dollar market, no card checkout, and no path for anyone without that Korean bank account.
Anytime Capital is built for everyone else. It is a U.S. money services business that serves customers worldwide, with a storefront at 2549 Piedmont Road NE in Atlanta, an office in Miami's One Biscayne Tower, a phone line at (470) 748-2530, and rails from Apple Pay to cash by mail. The Bitcoin is the same asset Upbit trades in won. The way you get it, and who you can call, is entirely different.
Fees: a won-market trading schedule, versus one all-in number on screen
Upbit's headline fee is 0.05% on the KRW market for both makers and takers, and in late August 2026 it cut its BTC and USDT markets from 0.25% to the same 0.05% as Korean rivals experimented with zero-fee trading. Won deposits from the linked K Bank account are free, won withdrawals carry a small flat charge, and crypto withdrawals are a fixed per-coin network fee. It is a trading schedule for an exchange balance, and every line of it is denominated in won.
The comparison with Anytime Capital is not really a fee comparison, because the products are different. Anytime Capital's card, Apple Pay and Google Pay pricing starts from 4% with the spread included, and the amount you pay and the crypto you receive are shown before you confirm. Upbit has no equivalent product, because it has no card rail and no dollar rail, and nobody without the K Bank account can fund it at any price.
Where the products meet is on larger orders. Anytime Capital's OTC desk quotes same-day wire trades with a named contact, wherever the customer is, which is the closest equivalent to what Upbit's order book offers a Korean institution. Upbit's schedule is a trading fee on an exchange balance. Anytime Capital's is one all-in price for dollars in and coins out.

Ways to pay: one Korean bank, versus nine rails
Upbit accepts exactly one funding method: a Korean-won transfer from the K Bank account linked to your verified identity. That is a regulatory design, not an oversight, and it is why the exchange has never taken cards, Apple Pay, foreign wires or cash. For a Korean resident it is seamless. For anyone else it is a locked door.
Anytime Capital accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit cards, ACH, wire, Cash App, cash in person at the Atlanta branch, and cash by mail, wherever you are. Wires settle the same business day. If your bank blocks a crypto card charge, there are eight other ways to finish the order without opening a Korean bank account.
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Debit card
- Credit card
- ACH bank transfer
- Wire transfer
- Cash App
- Cash in branch
- Cash by mail
Support: a Korean customer center, versus a phone number in Atlanta
Upbit's support is a Korean-language customer center and in-app 1:1 inquiries, tuned for a domestic user base of millions. The public reviews that reach English-language sites are thin, a Trustpilot profile with barely a dozen entries, and they cluster on the same theme: a foreigner who could not get past verification, or a withdrawal that stalled. The exchange's regulatory history adds context. In early 2025 Korea's Financial Intelligence Unit fined Dunamu about 35.2 billion won and barred new customers from transferring assets for three months over roughly 700,000 KYC lapses, and in November 2025 a hot-wallet breach drained around $30 million in Solana-based tokens before deposits and withdrawals were halted.
At Anytime Capital you call (470) 748-2530 during business hours and reach someone who can see your order. You can email, or drive to 2549 Piedmont Road NE and sort it out across a desk. For larger orders the OTC desk gives you one named contact from quote to settlement. None of that requires a translator.
More than a trade: the account that comes with it
Upbit is an exchange account: a won balance, a coin balance, and the exchange holding both. Anytime Capital customers get an FDIC-insured cash account with a free virtual debit card, a non-custodial wallet where the keys are yours, and buy and sell in one app, so selling Bitcoin and spending the dollars the same afternoon does not require a bank in Seoul.
The custody difference matters after November 2025. Upbit's hack was covered from company funds and no customer lost money, which is to its credit, but the episode is a reminder that an exchange balance is a claim on the exchange. A non-custodial wallet is not.
When Upbit is the right call
Choose Upbit if you hold a K Bank real-name account and want won-denominated order-book trading on Korean pairs with the deepest won liquidity there is. It is the correct default for that market. For a customer who saw Upbit on a volume ranking and wants to buy the same major assets with one all-in price, a phone number and a branch, wherever you are, start below.
