Is Upbit down? How to check, and what to do in the meantime
Every platform has bad days: a processor outage, an app that will not load, a withdrawal stuck on pending. If you are here because Upbit is not working right now, you do not have to wait it out.
- Check Upbit's own status page and social channels first
- Most "Upbit is down" reports are order delays during a volatility spike on Korean pairs, a deposit and withdrawal halt for one network, or the scheduled January 1 full-service maintenance, rather than the whole exchange going offline.
- Anytime Capital: finish the order today by card, Apple Pay, ACH, wire or cash
Updated September 2026. Upbit figures from its published pricing, terms and independent reviews.

Quick answer
Is Upbit down right now?
Check Upbit's status page and its X account for a posted incident, then try the web version directly rather than the app. Most "Upbit is down" reports are order delays during a volatility spike on Korean pairs, a deposit and withdrawal halt for one network, or the scheduled January 1 full-service maintenance, rather than the whole exchange going offline. If you need the crypto today, Anytime Capital is a U.S. platform independent of Upbit and its processors, and accepts card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, wire, Cash App and cash.

Card pricing at Anytime Capital, where Upbit has no card rail
Published fee percentages on a debit or credit card order
Upbit does not sell crypto for a card payment directly: no card, Apple Pay or Google Pay purchases at all; the only way in is a Korean-won transfer from a linked K Bank account, so a card never enters the picture. Anytime Capital card pricing starts from 4% and is shown in full before you confirm, excluding network fees. As of September 2026.
How to tell whether Upbit is actually down
Start with Upbit's own notice board and its X accounts, which post scheduled maintenance and per-coin deposit and withdrawal suspensions in advance. Upbit takes the entire service offline for maintenance and asset auditing every January 1, and it routinely pauses deposits and withdrawals for one network when a chain upgrades or a node falls behind, which is not an outage of the exchange.
The other common trigger is volume. When a Korean-favored coin moves fast, Upbit's order and app performance can lag for minutes, and the complaints arrive as "Upbit is down" even though the site loads. The November 27, 2025 hack is the exception that proves the rule: that day withdrawals really were halted exchange-wide while Upbit traced roughly 44.5 billion won of Solana-based assets, and the halt was announced.
If you do not hold a K Bank account, whether Upbit is up is academic, because you cannot log in either way. Anytime Capital is independent of Upbit and its bank partner, and accepts card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, wire, Cash App and cash if you need the crypto today, wherever you are.
- Status page and social channels: posted incidents
- Web version directly: rules out an app or wallet integration problem
- Payment fails but site works: processor or issuer, not an outage
- Order or withdrawal shows pending: review, not downtime; open a ticket
What to do if your Upbit order is stuck
Do not resubmit the same payment, which can create duplicate holds. Take a screenshot of the order and its status, check your email for a document request, and open a support ticket with the order ID. Pending orders almost always resolve into either a completed purchase or a refund; they rarely disappear. If you needed the crypto for something time-sensitive, place the order somewhere that can confirm it today while the ticket works itself out. You can always send the second batch to the same wallet address.
