Quick answer
Which is better, Bithumb or Anytime Capital?
For anyone outside Korea the answer is settled before fees come up: Bithumb trades only in Korean won, needs a Korean phone number and a KB Kookmin Bank real-name account, and does not register nonresidents. Anytime Capital serves customers in the United States and worldwide, with card pricing from 4% with the spread included, cash and same-day wire, an OTC desk, an FDIC-insured cash account with a free debit card, and offices in Atlanta and Miami. Bithumb is the right choice if you want a won-denominated order book and can open the Korean bank account it requires.

Published fee percentages on a debit or credit card order
Bithumb does not sell crypto for a card payment directly: no card, Apple Pay or Google Pay purchases; funding is a Korean-won transfer from a linked KB Kookmin Bank account, so there is no card fee because there is no card. Anytime Capital card pricing starts from 4% and is shown in full before you confirm, excluding network fees. As of September 2026.
What Bithumb is, and who it is for
Bithumb opened in 2014, three years before Upbit existed, and for a stretch of 2017 it was the busiest exchange in the world. It remains South Korea's number two by volume and its number one by breadth, with more than 470 listed coins as of August 2026, a longer list than Coinbase. In March 2025 it moved its real-name account partnership from NH NongHyup to KB Kookmin Bank, a switch aimed at younger customers, and it has been preparing a domestic IPO through a troubled 2026.
Everything about it is Korean by design. Won is the only fiat currency. A KB Kookmin account in your own name is the only way to fund it. Korean mobile phone identification is mandatory, and since 2018 Bithumb has removed foreign users who could not complete it. There is no dollar market, no card checkout, and no version of the account a U.S. resident can open, which is why so many American searches end with the word "alternative".
Anytime Capital is the alternative that will take you: an American money services business serving customers worldwide, with a storefront at 2549 Piedmont Road NE in Atlanta, an office in Miami's One Biscayne Tower, a phone line at (470) 748-2530, and nine ways to pay in dollars, including cash and same-day wire for customers who can walk in or mail it.
Fees: a won-market schedule, versus one all-in number in dollars
Bithumb's published rate on won pairs is 0.04% for makers and takers, and the exchange sells fee coupons that discount it. It has also run zero-fee promotions across hundreds of KRW markets, a campaign that by August 2026 had rivals like Upbit adjusting their own rates in response. Won deposits from the linked KB Kookmin account are free, won withdrawals carry a small flat fee, and crypto withdrawals are a fixed per-coin network charge.
Anytime Capital prices a different product. Its card, Apple Pay and Google Pay pricing starts from 4% with the spread included, one all-in number, with the amount you pay and the crypto you receive shown before you confirm, and larger orders move to a same-day wire through the OTC desk with an individual quote. Bithumb has no number for a card order at all, because it takes no cards.
The right comparison is between what each offers the person reading this. Bithumb sells won-denominated order-book trades to Korean residents with a Kookmin account. Anytime Capital sells crypto for dollars to customers wherever they are, and the fee it quotes is on a product you can actually buy.

Ways to pay: one Korean bank, versus nine rails
Bithumb accepts one funding method: a Korean-won transfer from the KB Kookmin Bank account linked to your verified identity. Korean law requires exactly that structure, and Bithumb has never taken cards, Apple Pay, foreign wires or cash. When it switched partner banks in March 2025, every customer had to open a new Kookmin account and relink before they could deposit again.
Anytime Capital accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit cards, ACH, wire, Cash App, cash in person at the Atlanta branch, and cash by mail, and it serves customers wherever they are. Wires settle the same business day. If a bank blocks one rail, eight others remain, and none of them require a Korean carrier or a Korean bank.

Support: a Korean customer center, versus a phone number in Atlanta
Bithumb's support runs in Korean through its customer center and in-app inquiries. Its Trustpilot profile is small and scored around 1.4 out of 5, and the reviews are the ones every Korea-first exchange collects from abroad: SMS verification that never arrives on a foreign number, a deposit suspended for a node upgrade with no timeline, and replies that read as scripted. Then there is February 6, 2026, when an employee keyed 2,000 BTC instead of 2,000 won into a promotional payout and 249 accounts were credited with roughly 620,000 bitcoin that existed only on Bithumb's ledger. Users sold more than $2 billion of it before the freeze, the exchange's BTC price fell toward $55,000, and the Financial Supervisory Service opened a probe that was still producing sanctions and compensation orders in June 2026.
At Anytime Capital you call (470) 748-2530 during business hours and reach someone who can see your order. You can email, or walk into 2549 Piedmont Road NE and sort it out across a desk. For larger orders the OTC desk gives you a named contact from quote to settlement.
More than a trade: the account that comes with it
Bithumb is a custodial exchange balance, and the 2026 payout error is a useful lesson in what that means: the coins in your account are entries in Bithumb's database, which is why 620,000 bitcoin could appear and then be clawed back. Anytime Capital customers get a non-custodial wallet where the keys are theirs, an FDIC-insured cash account with a free virtual debit card, and buy and sell in one app.
Selling Bitcoin and spending the dollars on Tuesday at Anytime Capital is one company and one card. The same trade through a Korean exchange, for a Korean, is a won transfer back to KB Kookmin. For an American, it is not available at all.
When Bithumb is the right call
Choose Bithumb if you want a won-denominated order book under Korea's real-name account system and can complete Korean phone verification and open a KB Kookmin account. That is the product it was built to be. For the same major coins in dollars, with a phone number and a branch, wherever you are, start below.
