Payment processor comparison
Shopify Payments vs Anytime Capital
If your store runs on Shopify, Shopify Payments is usually the right processor for it, and on the Advanced plan its 2.5% + 30¢ online rate is lower than our standard 2.75% + 30¢. Anytime Capital Payments is for the money that does not go through the store: invoices, deposits, wholesale orders, payment links and in-person sales, paid out instantly to a business account. Here is the honest arithmetic.
- 2.75% + 30¢ with no monthly plan fee
- Instant payouts, not 3 business days
- Invoices, deposits and links outside your store

Quick answer
Is Shopify Payments cheaper than Anytime Capital?
It depends on the plan, and on Advanced, yes. Shopify Payments charges 2.9% + 30¢ online on Basic, 2.7% + 30¢ on Grow and 2.5% + 30¢ on Advanced, against Anytime Capital Payments at 2.75% + 30¢ (2.5% + 30¢ for your first 30 days). Grow undercuts us by 0.05 points and Advanced by 0.25, but those plans cost $79 and $299 a month on yearly billing. On a Shopify store, any other processor adds a 2%, 1% or 0.6% third-party fee, so Shopify Payments usually wins there. Anytime Capital fits the sales outside your store, with no plan fee and payouts in seconds rather than 3 business days.

What Shopify Payments is genuinely good for
- Merchants already running their store on Shopify, where any other gateway adds Shopify's third-party fee of 2%, 1% or 0.6% on top of that gateway's own rate.
- Stores on the Grow or Advanced plans, whose 2.7% and 2.5% + 30¢ online rates are at or below ours.
- Retailers who want online store, POS and inventory in one system.
On a Shopify store, Shopify Payments is usually the answer
Shopify charges a third-party transaction fee when a store uses any processor other than Shopify Payments: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced, on top of whatever that processor charges. That fee alone is larger than any difference in card rates, which is why we do not suggest moving a Shopify store's checkout.
Shopify Payments also ties orders, refunds, payouts and POS into the same admin. For a store that lives on Shopify, that is a real convenience.

What each plan costs once you count the subscription
Counting only the plan fee and the online card rate, Shopify Advanced costs less than 2.75% + 30¢ once online card sales pass about $120,000 a month, and Grow once they pass about $158,000. Basic, at 2.9% + 30¢ plus $29 a month, costs more than 2.75% + 30¢ at every volume.
Of course the plan also runs your store, so this is not the whole comparison. It is the right one for sales that never touch the store: a wholesale invoice, a deposit on a custom order, a payment link sent over text, a market stall.
Three business days, or seconds
Shopify Payments pays US merchants out on a minimum 3-business-day schedule, combines Friday-to-Sunday sales into one payout, and can hold higher-risk accounts for 5 to 20 business days. Payouts into Shopify Balance can arrive in 1 business day; there is no on-demand instant payout to an outside bank.
With Anytime Capital Payments, sales sweep instantly into your Anytime Capital business account, 24/7. From there you can pay suppliers on local rails in 71+ countries, fund employee cards, or send same-day stablecoin transfers, without waiting for Monday.
Running both
The common setup among merchants who use both: Shopify Payments for the store's checkout, Anytime Capital for everything else. Invoices and deposits for wholesale buyers, custom orders and B2B accounts go out under your brand from the Anytime Capital dashboard, and Shopify payouts can land in the same Anytime Capital business account, so the business sees one balance.
- Wholesale and B2B invoices with deposits and partial payments
- Payment links for custom orders, sent by text, email or QR code
- In-person sales at markets and pop-ups with no extra hardware
- Supplier payouts on local rails in 71+ countries
