Head to head
Gemini vs Anytime Capital
Gemini is the exchange built for regulators: a New York trust charter, a Nasdaq listing, and a fee stack in the app that reflects all of that compliance. Anytime Capital is a U.S. money services business with card pricing from 4%, cash and same-day wire, a phone number, and an Atlanta branch. Here is the honest breakdown.
- Card orders from 4% all in, versus 3.49% plus a 0.50% convenience fee plus a transaction fee at Gemini
- Cash in branch, cash by mail, credit cards, Cash App and same-day wire that Gemini does not offer
- Call (470) 748-2530; Gemini support is a ticket and a chatbot

Quick answer
Which is better, Gemini or Anytime Capital?
Buying with a card, Anytime Capital is one all-in number: from 4% with the spread included, with the amount you pay and the crypto you receive shown before you confirm, against Gemini's app stack of a 3.49% debit card fee, a 0.50% convenience fee and a transaction fee of up to 1.49%. Anytime Capital serves customers wherever they are and adds cash, same-day wire, credit cards, Cash App, an OTC desk, a phone line, a branch, an FDIC-insured cash account with a virtual debit card, and delivery to a wallet you control. Gemini is the stronger choice if you want a New York trust-chartered custodian, the Gemini credit card, or the ActiveTrader order book.

- Gemini
Anytime Capital: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Debit card, Credit card, ACH bank transfer, Wire transfer, Cash App, Cash in branch, Cash by mail, each priced as one all-in number from 4% on card orders with the spread included. Gemini: 5 of those rails, priced a 3.49% fee on debit card purchases in the app, on top of the convenience fee and the transaction fee, with a number of free crypto withdrawals each month, then the network fee; free ACH cash-out. Both exclude blockchain network fees. As of September 2026.
What Gemini is, and what it is not
Gemini was founded in 2014 by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and launched in 2015 as a New York limited-purpose trust company chartered by the state's Department of Financial Services. That charter is the company's identity: it means Gemini is a qualified custodian under New York banking law and serves New York residents without a separate BitLicense. In September 2025 the parent, Gemini Space Station, Inc., listed on Nasdaq under GEMI. It supports around 100 assets, runs an ActiveTrader order book, offers staking on a small list of coins, and issues a no-annual-fee credit card that pays rewards in crypto.
The last four years have been harder than the first seven. Gemini Earn, a yield product that lent customer assets to Genesis, froze in November 2022 when Genesis stopped withdrawals, tying up more than $1 billion of customer crypto. Customers eventually got their assets back in kind in 2024 after a New York settlement, but the episode still defines Gemini's public reviews, and its Trustpilot score of around 1.4 out of 5 is among the lowest of any exchange in this comparison. The other recurring theme is document requests: Gemini is known for asking already-verified customers for more paperwork before releasing a withdrawal.
Anytime Capital is built on the opposite premise. It is an American money services business with a storefront on Piedmont Road in Atlanta, an office in Miami's One Biscayne Tower, and a phone number, (470) 748-2530, that reaches a person. It serves customers wherever they are, with the branch, the phone line and the cash rails as extras. It never lends your coins, because it never holds them: purchases are delivered to a non-custodial wallet you control. It is not an order book. The crypto is the same. The experience around it is not.
Fees: three layers in the app, versus from 4% with the total on screen
Gemini's app pricing has three parts. First, a convenience fee of 0.50%, which is effectively a spread on the quoted price. Second, a transaction fee that starts at $0.99 for orders under $10, steps up through fixed amounts, and becomes 1.49% above $200. Third, if you pay with a debit card, a 3.49% card fee. Added together, a $1,000 debit card order carries roughly $55 in fees. ACH deposits are free and wire deposits are free on Gemini's side, so funding by bank and buying in the app costs about 2% all in.
ActiveTrader is the escape hatch. It is an order book with maker and taker fees that start around 0.20% and 0.40% at low volume and fall with 30-day volume, and it does not charge the convenience fee. Gemini has revised the ActiveTrader schedule more than once, and some 2026 reviews cite higher entry rates, so check the schedule before relying on a number. For anyone comfortable placing a limit order, ActiveTrader skips the convenience fee and the card fee, and it is where Gemini's serious customers live.
Anytime Capital's card pricing starts from 4% with the spread already inside the quote, so a $1,000 card order is from $40 with one number for what you pay and one for what you receive. For larger orders the OTC desk quotes a same-day wire. That is one all-in figure against three layered lines in the Gemini app.

Ways to pay: nine rails versus debit, ACH and wire
Gemini in the United States takes debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, ACH and domestic wire. It does not accept credit cards for purchases, has no cash rail, and does not support Cash App. That is a fine list for a customer with a checking account who is not in a hurry, and a poor one for a customer whose bank blocks crypto debit purchases or who was paid in cash.
Anytime Capital accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit cards, ACH, domestic wire, Cash App, cash in person at the Atlanta branch, and cash by mail from anywhere in the country. Wires settle the same business day. If one rail is blocked by your bank, there are eight others.

Support: a chatbot and a ticket, versus a phone number and a front door
Gemini's Trustpilot score, around 1.4 out of 5 across more than 1,400 reviews, is the weakest number in this comparison, and the reason is almost always support. The five-star reviews praise security and the credit card. The one-star reviews describe a withdrawal held for a document request, an automated chat that loops, and a ticket that takes days to reach a person. Gemini does not publish a phone line for retail customers; the numbers that appear in search results for Gemini support are third-party listings and should be treated with suspicion.
At Anytime Capital you can call (470) 748-2530 during business hours and reach someone who can see your order. You can email. You can drive to 2549 Piedmont Road NE in Atlanta and sort it out across a desk. For larger orders the OTC desk gives you a named contact from quote to settlement.
More than an exchange: the account that comes with it
Gemini holds your coins as a trust-chartered custodian, which is reassuring on paper and was little comfort to Earn customers in 2022. Anytime Capital customers get an FDIC-insured cash account with a free virtual debit card, a non-custodial wallet, and buy and sell in the same app. Because the coins are delivered to a wallet you control, there is no custodial balance for a document request to freeze, and no yield program to lend it out.
When Gemini is the right call
Choose Gemini if you live in New York and want an exchange chartered by NYDFS, if you want the Gemini credit card and its crypto rewards, or if you will trade on ActiveTrader and can ignore the app's fee stack. Its security record on the exchange itself is clean, and its public listing adds a layer of disclosure most competitors lack.
