Quick answer
Which is better, KuCoin or Anytime Capital?
For a U.S. resident, KuCoin is closed. It pleaded guilty in January 2025 to running an unlicensed money transmitting business, paid more than $297 million, agreed to exit the United States for at least two years, and in March 2026 accepted a CFTC order permanently barring direct U.S. access. Anytime Capital serves customers wherever they are, the U.S. included, with card pricing from 4% and the spread included, cash in branch or by mail, same-day wire, an OTC desk, a phone line, a non-custodial wallet and an FDIC-insured cash account with a free virtual debit card. KuCoin is the stronger choice only for a trader it can legally accept who wants its bots, futures and margin in one custodial app.

Published fee percentages on a debit or credit card order
KuCoin does not sell crypto for a card payment directly: card purchases routed to Simplex, Banxa and similar partners, typically 1% to 3% plus a spread in the partner's quote, with Simplex advertised as low as 2.5% in Europe; none of it is available to a U.S. customer. Anytime Capital card pricing starts from 4% and is shown in full before you confirm, excluding network fees. As of September 2026.
What KuCoin is, and how it lost the United States
KuCoin launched in 2017, moved its base to the Seychelles, and grew into the exchange people used when a coin was too small for Coinbase or Binance. It lists more than 1,000 assets, claims 40 million users across 200-plus countries, and wraps the spot market in futures, margin, lending and a popular set of trading bots. Its minimum order sizes are tiny, which made it a favorite for beginners buying fractions of a dollar of a new token.
For years it also served Americans without a license. In March 2024 federal prosecutors in Manhattan charged KuCoin and its founders, and in January 2025 the operator, Peken Global Limited, pleaded guilty to one count of operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. It admitted to roughly 1.5 million U.S. users and at least $184.5 million in fees from them, forfeited that amount, paid a $112.9 million fine, and agreed to leave the U.S. market for at least two years. Founders Chun Gan and Ke Tang stepped away from management. In March 2026 a federal court entered a CFTC consent order with a $500,000 penalty that permanently bars Peken from letting U.S. traders on its platform unless it registers, turning a temporary exit into a permanent one.
Anytime Capital takes the customer KuCoin had to give up, and everyone else. It is an American company that serves customers worldwide, with a storefront on Piedmont Road in Atlanta, an office in One Biscayne Tower in Miami, a phone number that reaches a person, and every rail you are likely to use, including cash and same-day wire. It is not an order book, and it says so.
Fees: a trading schedule and a partner card rail, versus from 4% on screen
KuCoin's spot fee is 0.1% for makers and takers at the base tier, 0.08% if you toggle on KCS fee payment, and it falls with volume through VIP levels until makers pay nothing and, at the very top, are paid a small rebate. Futures start at 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker. Crypto deposits are free. Withdrawals carry a per-coin network fee set by KuCoin.
Buying with a card is a hand-off. KuCoin's Fast Buy routes to Simplex, Banxa, BTC Direct and similar partners, and their fees typically run 1% to 3% plus a spread in the quote; KuCoin has advertised Simplex as low as 2.5% in Europe and has run zero-fee promotions with Banxa. The number you actually pay is whatever the partner shows at the last step, and it changes by region and card type.
Anytime Capital's card, Apple Pay and Google Pay pricing starts from 4% with the spread included, one all-in number, with the amount you pay and the crypto you receive shown before you confirm. It is the price of a dollar-to-crypto purchase that a U.S. resident can actually make. For larger amounts the OTC desk quotes directly against a same-day wire, which is the rail KuCoin never offered to Americans even when it was taking their money.

Ways to pay: nine rails versus a closed door
Outside the United States, KuCoin accepts cards through partners, some bank transfers, and a large P2P marketplace. Inside the United States it accepts nothing, because the plea agreement and the CFTC order require it to keep U.S. residents off the platform. There is no ACH, no U.S. wire and no cash, and there is no U.S. affiliate to send you to.
Anytime Capital accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit cards, ACH, domestic wire, Cash App, cash in person at the Atlanta branch, and cash by mail from anywhere in the country. Wires settle the same business day. If one rail is blocked by your bank, there are eight others.

Support: a ticket that waits a month, versus a phone number
KuCoin runs 24/7 live chat and a ticket system, and no phone line. Its Trustpilot profile sits at 1.6 out of 5 across roughly 1,400 reviews, with 79% at one star, and Trustpilot's own data shows KuCoin replies to about 39% of negative reviews and typically takes more than a month to do it. The praise is for the coin list, the small minimums and the bots. The complaints are frozen withdrawals pending KYC or risk review, tickets that go unanswered for weeks, chat that loops back to help-center articles, and P2P disputes that drag on for months.
At Anytime Capital you can call (470) 748-2530 during business hours and reach someone who can see your order. You can email. You can drive to 2549 Piedmont Road NE and sort it out across a desk. For larger orders the OTC desk gives you a named contact from quote to settlement.
More than an exchange balance: the account that comes with it
KuCoin is custodial: your coins sit in its wallets until you withdraw them, and the frozen-withdrawal reviews are the cost of that model. Anytime Capital delivers to a non-custodial wallet, so the crypto is yours the moment it lands, and adds an FDIC-insured cash account with a free virtual debit card. Sell Bitcoin and spend the dollars the next day, without a wire to a third bank.
When KuCoin is the right call
Choose KuCoin if it can legally accept you and you like its bots, futures, margin and tiny minimum orders enough to accept a custodial balance on an exchange with a recent guilty plea and a 1.6 Trustpilot score. Nobody in the United States can choose it. For one place to buy, hold, sell and spend, wherever you are, with a phone number and a front door, start below.
