Quick answer
Which is better, bitFlyer or Anytime Capital?
For most buyers, Anytime Capital is the better fit: it takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App and cash where bitFlyer USA takes only ACH and wire, shows one all-in price from 4% with the spread included where bitFlyer's Buy/Sell screen prices in a spread that never appears as a line item, and adds a phone line, an OTC desk, an FDIC-insured cash account with a debit card, and offices in Atlanta and Miami. bitFlyer is the stronger choice if what you want is a bank-funded order book with limit orders on Lightning, or its Japanese or European entity.

Published fee percentages on a debit or credit card order
bitFlyer does not sell crypto for a card payment directly: no card, Apple Pay or Google Pay purchases in the U.S.; the Buy/Sell screen prices in a spread that bitFlyer discloses as anywhere from 0.1% to 6.0% depending on market conditions, and the money must arrive by ACH or wire first. Anytime Capital card pricing starts from 4% and is shown in full before you confirm, excluding network fees. As of September 2026.
What bitFlyer is, and what the U.S. version leaves out
bitFlyer was founded in Tokyo in January 2014 by former Goldman Sachs trader Yuzo Kano and grew into Japan's largest exchange, registered with the Financial Services Agency under rules written after the Mt. Gox collapse. It expanded with a Luxembourg-licensed European arm and, in 2017, bitFlyer USA, a San Francisco company that won a New York BitLicense at a time when few exchanges could. Today bitFlyer USA holds money transmitter licenses across 49 states and Washington, D.C., with Hawaii the remaining gap at our last check.
The American product is narrower than the Japanese one. U.S. customers get roughly a dozen coins, a simple Buy/Sell screen priced with a spread, and the Lightning order book with maker and taker fees that start at 0.10%. Funding is ACH or wire, both free to deposit. There are no cards, no Apple Pay, no Cash App, no cash, and support is by ticket. It is a compliance-first exchange for a bank-funded trader who wants Bitcoin and Ethereum and does not need to talk to anyone.
Anytime Capital is built for the customer who does, wherever they are. It is a U.S. money services business with a storefront at 2549 Piedmont Road NE in Atlanta, an office in Miami's One Biscayne Tower, a phone line at (470) 748-2530, and every rail from Apple Pay to cash by mail. The Bitcoin is identical. The number of ways to get it, and the number of people you can call about it, are not.
Fees: a spread that is not a line item, versus one all-in number on screen
bitFlyer publishes two prices. On the Lightning order book U.S. accounts pay 0.10% for makers and takers at the entry tier, stepping down toward 0.03% as 30-day volume climbs. On the Buy/Sell screen there is no commission line; instead bitFlyer quotes a price that includes a spread it discloses as anywhere from 0.1% to 6.0% depending on market conditions. ACH deposits and withdrawals are free, wire deposits are free, and wire withdrawals carry a flat fee of about $20.
The Buy/Sell number is the one most first-time customers meet, and it is the one to watch, because it moves with market conditions and never appears as a line item. Anytime Capital prices the other way round: card, Apple Pay and Google Pay orders start from 4% with the spread included, and the amount you pay and the crypto you receive are both on screen before you confirm. The honest test is to screenshot both quotes on the same $1,000 order and compare how much crypto lands.
Where bitFlyer fits is a patient trader who funds by ACH, waits for settlement, and places limit orders on the Lightning order book. Where Anytime Capital fits is everyone who needs to pay another way, needs it today, or wants a same-day wire through the OTC desk with a named contact and a quote for size.

Ways to pay: bank transfer only, versus nine rails
bitFlyer USA funds by ACH and domestic wire, and that is the whole list. It is a defensible design for an exchange that prizes its BitLicense, and ACH funding is genuinely useful, but it means a customer whose bank flags crypto transfers, who was paid in cash, or who needs coins before an ACH settles has nowhere to turn inside bitFlyer. It also means no Apple Pay, no Google Pay, no debit or credit card, and no Cash App.
Anytime Capital accepts Apple Pay, Google Pay, debit and credit cards, ACH, domestic wire, Cash App, cash in person at the Atlanta branch, and cash by mail from anywhere in the country. Wires settle the same business day. If one rail is blocked, there are eight others.

Support: a ticket queue, versus a phone number
bitFlyer USA's Trustpilot profile is small, 28 reviews, and it scores around 1.9 out of 5, with the large majority at one star. The complaints are specific: an account frozen days after passing verification, a withdrawal refused with a form reply, referral bonuses withheld, and tickets that go unanswered for weeks. bitFlyer's Japanese parent has a strong security record and a real regulator, and none of the reviews allege theft; they describe a company that is careful to the point of silence.
At Anytime Capital you can call (470) 748-2530 during business hours and reach someone who can see your order. You can email. You can drive to 2549 Piedmont Road NE and sort it out across a desk. For larger orders the OTC desk gives you a named contact from quote to settlement, which is what a frozen account most needs.
More than an exchange: the account that comes with it
bitFlyer USA is a custodial exchange account: dollars and coins held by bitFlyer until you withdraw them. Anytime Capital customers get an FDIC-insured cash account with a free virtual debit card, a non-custodial wallet where the keys are theirs, and buy and sell in the same app, so selling Bitcoin and spending the dollars the same day does not involve an ACH out and a two-day wait.
bitFlyer's security history is one of the best in the industry, and a custodial account there is a reasonable place to trade. It is still a claim on a company. A non-custodial wallet is the coins themselves.
When bitFlyer is the right call
Choose bitFlyer if you want its Japanese or European entity under its home regulator, or if you are a bank-funded trader who places limit orders on the Lightning order book and does not expect to talk to support.
