Payment processor comparison
Stax vs Anytime Capital
Stax sells processing like a membership: card interchange at cost, 8¢ or 15¢ a transaction, and a monthly subscription from $99 that rises with your annual volume. At real volume that can beat any flat rate, ours included. Anytime Capital Payments charges 2.75% + 30¢ with no monthly fee, so a smaller business pays only when it sells, and payouts go to your bank with an instant option where eligible.
- No $99+ monthly subscription
- One rate whatever card your customer uses
- Payouts to your bank, instant where eligible

Quick answer
Is Stax cheaper than Anytime Capital?
It depends on your volume and your customers' cards, and the arithmetic is published on both sides. Stax passes interchange and network fees through at cost and adds 15¢ per online transaction and $99 to $199+ a month. On $10,000 a month in $100 online sales, Stax costs less than the $305.00 Anytime Capital Payments charges only if those pass-through costs average under 1.91% of sales; at $50,000 a month the line moves to 2.5%. Debit-heavy businesses clear it more easily than ones whose customers pay with rewards cards. For businesses processing $1M+ a year, we quote custom or interchange-plus pricing too.

Pricing model
Stax does not publish a flat US rate
Stax: Interchange at cost + 15¢, plus the monthly subscription. There is no published number to chart against ours, so compare a written quote line by line with Anytime Capital Payments's 2.75% + 30¢ (2.5% + 30¢ for your first 90 days), which is $3.05 on a $100 sale.
Credit where due
What Stax is genuinely good for
- Established businesses with enough volume that interchange at cost plus 8¢ or 15¢ beats a flat rate even after $99 to $199 a month.
- Businesses whose customers pay mostly with debit cards from large banks, whose regulated interchange passes straight through.
- Merchants who want a fixed, predictable markup with no long-term contract or cancellation fee, per Stax.
Interchange at cost, and a subscription on top
Every card payment carries interchange, paid to the bank that issued the card, plus card-network fees. Stax passes both through with no percentage markup and earns its money from a per-transaction fee (8¢ in person, 15¢ online) and a monthly subscription: $99 up to $150,000 a year in processing, $139 up to $250,000, and from $199 above that.
The model rewards volume and cheap cards. A regulated debit card from a large bank carries far less interchange than a premium rewards card or a business card, and with Stax you keep the whole difference.

Where the break-even sits
Because Stax publishes everything except interchange, you can work out the card mix it needs to beat a flat rate. Take $100 online sales. Each line below is the average pass-through cost, as a share of sales, under which a month with Stax costs less than a month with Anytime Capital Payments at 2.75% + 30¢.
Your statement from any processor shows your own blended interchange. Compare it with the line for your volume.
- $10,000 a month on the $99 plan: Stax wins below 1.91% (we charge $305.00)
- $20,000 a month on the $139 plan: Stax wins below 2.21% (we charge $610.00)
- $50,000 a month on the $199 plan: Stax wins below 2.5% (we charge $1,525.00)
What a flat rate buys instead
With 2.75% + 30¢, a month of premium rewards cards costs the same as a month of debit cards, and a slow month costs nothing to keep the account open. There is no subscription to pay when sales dip, and the price of a sale is known before it happens.
The launch offer brings it to 2.5% + 30¢ for your first 90 days, and for businesses processing $1M+ a year we quote custom or interchange-plus pricing on your real card mix, with a shared Slack channel and a named account manager.
ACH, where Stax publishes a cap
Stax charges 1% for ACH, capped at $10, which makes large invoices paid by bank inexpensive. Anytime Capital Payments accepts ACH bank debit on payment links and invoices too; its current rate is on the pricing page.
Funding and everything after
Stax funds the next business day as standard and offers same-day funding for a fee it does not publish. On Anytime Capital Payments: payouts to your own bank account, standard or instant where eligible, instant sweeps into an Anytime Capital business account, RTP or FedNow transfers to any US bank, same-day domestic wires, vendor payments by ACH, local rails in 71+ countries, stablecoin payouts from your balance, crypto conversion of your balance and employee cards funded from your balance, whenever you like or on an automatic schedule.
Recurring billing comes built in rather than as a separate product: subscription plans with free trials, discount codes, plan changes with proration, pause and resume, usage-based meters and a customer billing portal. Every payment, fee, refund and payout also syncs to QuickBooks Online or Xero on its own.
