Payment processor comparison
Paddle vs Anytime Capital
Paddle is not quite a payment processor: it is a merchant of record, the legal seller of each order, which means it handles sales tax and VAT worldwide, plus fraud and chargebacks, for 5% + 50¢ a transaction. For a software company selling to consumers in dozens of countries, that is a real service. Anytime Capital Payments is a processor: 2.75% + 30¢, your name as the seller, and payouts to your bank whenever you like instead of a monthly transfer.
- 2.75% + 30¢ against 5% + 50¢
- Payouts on demand, not monthly
- Your brand as the seller
Updated October 2026. Paddle figures from its published US pricing; where a figure is not published, we say so.

Quick answer
Is Paddle cheaper than Anytime Capital?
Per sale, no: Paddle charges 5% + 50¢ and Anytime Capital Payments charges 2.75% + 30¢, so a $100 sale costs $5.50 against $3.05, and $20,000 a month in $50 subscriptions costs $1,200.00 against $670.00. But the comparison is not like for like. Paddle's price includes being your merchant of record: it calculates, collects, files and remits sales tax and VAT around the world and takes on fraud and chargebacks. With Anytime Capital you stay the seller and handle tax yourself. If you sell to consumers in many countries, Paddle may be worth the difference; if most customers are US businesses, you are likely paying for work you do not need.

What Paddle is genuinely good for
- Software and digital-product companies selling to consumers in many countries, where registering for, collecting and filing VAT and sales tax everywhere is the real cost.
- Founders who want someone else to be the legal seller, carrying tax, fraud and chargeback handling, for one all-in percentage.
- SaaS businesses that want subscription billing, localised checkout and tax compliance from one vendor.
What a merchant of record does
When a customer buys through Paddle, Paddle is the seller of record. It charges the customer, works out and collects the right sales tax or VAT for where they are, files and remits it, screens the order for fraud and deals with chargebacks, then pays you what is left once a month. You do not have to register for VAT in Germany or GST in Australia yourself.
Selling software, downloads or online courses to consumers in many countries can mean registering for VAT, GST or sales tax in each one, then collecting, filing and remitting it. A merchant of record takes all of that on, which is why it charges more per sale than a processor. If most of your customers are US businesses, or you sell in a handful of states, the tax work is smaller and you may not need one.

What the difference costs, and buys
Take a software business doing $20,000 a month in $50 subscriptions. At 5% + 50¢, Paddle's fees are $1,200.00 a month. At 2.75% + 30¢, Anytime Capital Payments charges $670.00: $530.00 less a month, or $6,360 a year.
That gap is what Paddle charges to be the seller. Set it against what tax compliance would cost you instead: registrations, filing software or an accountant, and the time to keep up with each country's rules. For a business with buyers in the EU, the UK and Australia it can be good value; for a US business selling to US companies it usually is not.
Monthly payouts, or on demand
Paddle pays out once a month. Your balance becomes a payout on the 1st if it is over your threshold, is sent by the 15th, and can take up to three working days to land, so a sale on the 2nd of a month can wait about six weeks.
On Anytime Capital Payments: payouts to your own bank account, standard or instant where eligible, instant sweeps into an Anytime Capital business account, RTP or FedNow transfers to any US bank, same-day domestic wires, vendor payments by ACH, local rails in 71+ countries, stablecoin payouts from your balance, crypto conversion of your balance and employee cards funded from your balance, whenever you like or on an automatic schedule.
Your name on the sale
Because Paddle is the seller, the order is legally a sale from Paddle, and the checkout and the customer relationship run through it.
With Anytime Capital Payments the business is the seller: your logo and colour on checkout, invoices, receipts and payment emails, served from a domain you own such as pay.yourbusiness.com. Customers, invoices and payment history live on one record in your dashboard.
Billing a software product with Anytime Capital
Anytime Capital Payments covers the billing side a SaaS company needs: subscription plans with free trials, discount codes, plan changes with proration, pause and resume, usage-based meters and a customer billing portal. For engineers, a REST API described in OpenAPI 3.1, 25 signed webhook event types, restricted API keys, an MCP server so Claude and other AI agents can create links and invoices, and a Node SDK in preview.
What it does not do is be the seller. Sales tax can be added at checkout from the buyer's address, but registering, filing and remitting stay with you. Payments, fees, refunds and payouts sync to QuickBooks Online or Xero, and you choose how collected sales tax posts, which helps with the filing.
