What OKX verification involves
OKX US requires full verification before you can fund or trade: email and phone, then legal name, address, date of birth and Social Security number, then a photo of a government ID and a selfie. The automated check usually finishes in minutes. Signup in a restricted state fails at this step rather than at the door, which is why some New Yorkers and Texans get as far as uploading an ID before learning they cannot proceed.
The verification complaints in OKX's reviews are mostly about the global platform and mostly about the second look: an account frozen after a large deposit, a withdrawal blocked pending a source-of-funds review, a chat that answers with a template. Because OKX is custodial, coins wait inside during that review. Anytime Capital verifies identity too, as every U.S. money services business must, but purchases are delivered to a wallet you control, so a later review never freezes what you already bought.
