Bank crypto policies
Buy crypto with any bank's card
Every bank answers the crypto question differently — debit versus credit, blocks versus cash-advance coding, chatty fraud screens versus quiet ones. Here's the real policy at 20 major US issuers, and the routes that work at every single one of them. Short version: your debit card works at Anytime Capital, whoever you bank with.

Issuer positions as publicly documented, reviewed August 2026; policies can change and your cardholder agreement controls. Debit "works" means standard authorization at licensed platforms after any routine fraud verification.
The pattern behind every bank's policy
In early 2018, five of the biggest credit issuers — Capital One, then Chase, Bank of America, Citi, and Discover within weeks of each other — blocked crypto purchases on credit cards, and Wells Fargo followed that June. The logic was borrowed money buying a volatile asset. Those blocks mostly still stand in 2026.
Debit never had that problem: it spends money you already have, so it clears at essentially every US bank once you pass the routine first-purchase fraud check. That's why the universal advice on every page of this guide is the same — lead with the debit card, keep Apple Pay as the smooth repeat lane, and use ACH or wires when size calls for it. All of those work at Anytime Capital, for customers of all 20 banks here and every bank we didn't list.
