In short
How do I sell crypto and get paid to a UK bank account?
Start a sell order on Anytime Capital, pick Local and United Kingdom, and enter the six-digit sort code and eight-digit account number of an account in your name. Send your crypto to the order's deposit address. When it confirms, we pay pounds sterling by Faster Payments, the UK's real-time bank transfer system, which usually credits the account in seconds.

Before you start
What you need
- 01Your six-digit sort code, written with or without dashes (20-00-00).
- 02Your eight-digit account number.
- 03The name on the account, exactly as your bank holds it.
- 04A verified Anytime Capital account.
Why Faster Payments
Faster Payments has carried the UK's everyday bank transfers since 2008. It runs every hour of every day, and almost every UK bank, building society and app-based account can receive on it. For a seller, that means no IBAN and no SWIFT code: the sort code identifies the bank and branch, the account number the account.
The pounds land in your account as an ordinary UK transfer, at any hour, and show on your statement like any other payment in.
The name check
UK banks compare the name on an incoming transfer with the name on the account. Enter it exactly as it appears on your statement, including middle names if your bank holds them, and the payment goes straight through. Payouts are only ever made to an account in the verified seller's own name.
From wallet to sterling
Every order gets its own deposit address, so your transfer is matched to your order without memos or references. Send from any wallet, including your Anytime Capital wallet, where selling is one tap and there's no address to copy at all.
- Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, Litecoin, TRON, USDT, USDC and DAI
- Paid in GBP, to your own account
- Track the order from deposit to payout in your dashboard
Sterling accounts only
A UK payout is sent in pounds, so the sort code and account number must belong to a sterling account. A euro or dollar account held at a UK bank can't receive a Faster Payment; for those, a SEPA or SWIFT payout is the right route.
Joint accounts work if you are one of the named holders. Business accounts are paid only for business sells, which use ACH, wire or SWIFT for now.
Faster Payments payouts: questions
Can I be paid to a Monzo, Revolut or Starling account?
Any UK account with a sort code and account number that receives Faster Payments can be paid, app-based accounts included, as long as it is in your own name.
Do Faster Payments work at weekends?
Yes. Faster Payments runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bank holidays.
Do I need an IBAN for a UK payout?
No. A UK payout needs only the sort code and account number.
What happens if the name doesn't match?
Your bank may hold or return the payment. Enter the name exactly as your bank holds it; if a payout is returned, our team contacts you to correct the details.
Is selling crypto in the UK taxable?
Disposals of crypto can be subject to Capital Gains Tax in the UK. This is general information, not tax advice; check your own position with HMRC guidance or an adviser.
Can I use a euro account at a UK bank?
Not for a Faster Payments payout, which pays pounds only. A euro account with an IBAN can be paid by SEPA instead.
