Is Zengo legit? What that does and does not mean
Zengo is a real wallet that has operated since 2018. The useful question is not whether it is a scam but what happens on the day something goes wrong, and that is where an online-only platform and a U.S. company with a front door part ways.
- Zengo is wallet software, not a money transmitter, and holds no financial license of its own; the on-ramp inside it is MoonPay, a FinCEN-registered money services business with state licenses, and Zengo's security model has been audited and is backed by a bug bounty.
- Delivers coins to a wallet you control
- Anytime Capital: a U.S. company you can call or visit
Updated September 2026. Zengo figures from its published pricing, terms and independent reviews.

Quick answer
Is Zengo legit and safe to use?
Yes. Zengo is a legitimate wallet founded in 2018, based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Zengo is wallet software, not a money transmitter, and holds no financial license of its own; the on-ramp inside it is MoonPay, a FinCEN-registered money services business with state licenses, and Zengo's security model has been audited and is backed by a bug bounty. Zengo serves the U.S. with restrictions. It does not hold your coins, so the risks are declined payments and verification holds rather than lost funds. What it does not offer is a phone number or a place to walk into, which is why many customers prefer Anytime Capital when something needs a human.

Card pricing at Anytime Capital, where Zengo has no card rail
Published fee percentages on a debit or credit card order
Zengo does not sell crypto for a card payment directly: no card rail of its own; buying inside Zengo is a MoonPay purchase at MoonPay's rate, which is 4.5% on card, Apple Pay and Google Pay orders with a minimum of about $3.99, shown before you confirm, and Zengo Pro subscribers get a discount of up to 50% on those fees. Anytime Capital card pricing starts from 4% and is shown in full before you confirm, excluding network fees. As of September 2026.
The checklist: does Zengo pass?
Zengo is legitimate and, as wallets go, unusually well documented. It was founded in Tel Aviv in 2018, was the first consumer wallet to ship multi-party computation instead of a seed phrase, publishes its security model, runs a bug bounty and has said no Zengo wallet has ever been drained. It is non-custodial: Zengo's server share cannot move funds on its own. Its Trustpilot profile of about 1,100 reviews averaging 4.2 out of 5 is stronger than most wallets', and the company replies to nearly all negative reviews.
What Zengo is not is a licensed financial company. It holds no money transmitter license because it does not need one; the buying and selling inside it is done by MoonPay, which is FinCEN-registered and state-licensed, and MoonPay's rules govern who can buy where. The legitimacy question a careful user should ask is about recovery: because one key share lives on Zengo's servers, restoring a wallet depends on Zengo's service being available and its face-scan recovery working, and Zengo has published a guarantee and an escape mechanism to address that.
Anytime Capital is a U.S. money services business with a storefront in Atlanta and an office in Miami. Its wallet is non-custodial too, its cash account is FDIC-insured, and a question about either is answered by a person at (470) 748-2530.

What "safe" looks like when a trade goes sideways
Read the one-star reviews of Zengo and a pattern appears: purchase fees through moonpay that feel high inside a free wallet, buying or selling unavailable in some u.s. states, recovery that depends on zengo's servers and a face scan, pro subscription pricing for features other wallets include. These are compliance and process events, not theft, and every regulated platform has them. The difference is what you can do about it. On Zengo you open a ticket or a chat and wait. At Anytime Capital you call (470) 748-2530 and speak to someone who can see the order, or walk into the Atlanta branch at 2549 Piedmont Road NE, Suite 110, Atlanta, GA 30324 and resolve it across a desk.

How to protect yourself on any platform
Use the real website address and never a link from a message. Turn on two-factor authentication. Send your first purchase to a wallet you already control and confirm it arrives before buying more. Keep a screenshot of the confirmation screen with the fees. And if anyone contacts you claiming to be from any exchange and asks you to move money, hang up and call the number on the company's own site.
Leaving Zengo? Your wallet address works here too.
Verify once with your ID and a selfie, pick a coin, choose any of nine ways to pay, and paste any wallet address you control. Card and Apple Pay orders confirm in minutes; wires settle the same business day.
