How Google Pay works for crypto purchases
Google Pay uses the card stored in your Google Wallet to fund the transaction. The underlying card — whether debit or credit — determines the actual funding source and any issuer-level policies that apply. Google Pay is a payment interface; the card it connects to governs restrictions, fees, and limits.
This means that if your linked card is a credit card with issuer restrictions on cryptocurrency, Google Pay will not bypass those restrictions. Confirm with your card issuer that the linked card permits crypto purchases before initiating.
