Head of Branches
Open twenty branches, staff them, and own whether they make money.
This is the most important hire we are making. We are going from a handful of locations to twenty, and one person needs to own that end to end — picking the cities, standing up each branch, hiring the one or two people who will run it, training them, and then staying accountable for whether that branch is profitable six months later.
The mechanics are deliberately unglamorous and deliberately fast. Our branches run out of flexible, professionally managed office space rather than long commercial leases, so there is no build-out and no permit queue. What there is instead is a lot of flying, a lot of first weeks in unfamiliar cities, and a lot of judgment calls about whether a market and a candidate are right.
You will not be handed a playbook, because the playbook is the deliverable. The first few branches you open become the template for the rest, and we expect you to write it down as you go.
This role is open to candidates anywhere in the US. You will work out of the Anytime Capital branch local to you — and remotely if we have not opened one in your city yet.
What you'll do
- Own the branch expansion plan: which cities, in what order, on what timeline
- Stand up each new branch — space, setup, systems, licensing readiness, opening day
- Recruit, hire and train the one to two people who staff each location
- Own branch P&L: revenue, cost to operate, and the path to profitability per location
- Manage branch employees across the network, including performance and development
- Build the operating playbook so branch twelve opens faster and cleaner than branch two
- Work with the Chief Compliance Officer so every branch opens compliant, not retroactively compliant
- Report branch performance and expansion progress directly to the founders
What we're looking for
- 5+ years running multi-site operations, or opening locations for a retail, restaurant, financial services or franchise business
- You have personally opened locations before and can talk through what went wrong in them
- Real P&L accountability in a previous role — not just operational metrics
- You have hired and managed people across multiple cities, remotely as well as in person
- Comfortable travelling heavily. This job does not work from a desk
- Clean background check, including fingerprinting where a state requires it
Nice to have
- Experience in banking, credit unions, money transmission or another regulated financial setting
- Familiarity with state money transmitter licensing
- You have built an operating playbook or franchise model that other people then executed
