We follow the Federal Reserve calendar
The same eleven holidays as every bank in the United States. On those days the US banking network pauses, so bank transfers would not settle anyway, and you get one familiar schedule to remember.
The weekend rule
A holiday that falls on a Sunday is observed on the Monday after it. A holiday that falls on a Saturday stays put: the branches, normally open Saturdays, close that day and reopen Monday.

What happens when a bank holiday falls on a weekend?
We follow the Federal Reserve's rule. A holiday that falls on a Sunday is observed on the following Monday, so the branches close that Monday. A holiday that falls on a Saturday is not moved: the branches, which are normally open on Saturdays, close on the holiday itself and reopen on Monday.
