Some customers pay invoices by ACH or wire. Save your business's own bank details once and your invoices show them next to card payment, with the invoice number as the payment reference so each transfer is easy to match.

## Set up

- In **Settings → Payouts → Bank transfer instructions for invoices**, an owner or admin enters the bank name, the name on the account, the 9-digit ABA routing number (checked as you save), the account number and account type.
- For international wires, add the SWIFT/BIC code and the bank's address.
- Set the **payment reference**. `{invoice_number}` becomes the invoice's number, so `ACME {invoice_number}` reads `ACME INV-0042`.
- Choose whether new invoices show the instructions by default.

The account number is encrypted when it is saved, and the dashboard only ever shows its last four digits. Every change is in the activity log.

## On each invoice

- Owners and admins can switch the instructions on or off for one invoice, in the invoice editor or in the **Bank transfer** card on the invoice.
- They appear on the hosted invoice page, its PDF and the invoice email while the invoice can be paid, and never on a paid, refunded or canceled invoice.
- Card payment stays available on the same invoice.

## Record the payment

A bank transfer goes straight to your bank account, so we don't see it arrive. When it does, open the invoice and use **Record payment** with the method **Bank transfer** (the full balance, or what came in). The invoice is marked paid or partly paid, and you can send the customer a receipt. See [Invoices](https://anytime-capital.com/docs/invoices.md) for the API.
